At Thrive, Birmingham, we grow more than plants in our gardens. We grow wellbeing within the community.

Our therapeutic gardening programmes at Kings Heath Park support local disabled people and those experiencing ill health or disadvantage.

As a charity, we have been transforming lives for 45+ years, but right now, at a time when the UK’s health and social services are so stretched, people need us more than ever.

In Birmingham, thousands of people are disabled or living with mental ill health and social isolation - often with nowhere to go for support.

At the Thrive garden, they experience the life-changing benefits of gardening and nature. In our safe, welcoming green space, people improve their physical and mental wellbeing and connect with their community.

Together, we help to rebuild confidence, reduce depression and tackle lonelines.

When I go home, I’m in a lot better place than when I come in… I would say to anyone, being outside in nature even if you can only do five minutes a day, is the best thing for your head you can possibly do.

Thrive, Birmingham needs more funding

Grow it Forward, Birmingham, is an appeal to the community to come together to help us keep growing their health and wellbeing.

With some of our core funding coming to an end, the services we provide are at risk.

With your help, we can ensure local people continue to benefit from our therapeutic gardening programmes.

People like Lisa, whose mental health and confidence have improved since attending Thrive, Birmingham.

We need your support

Donate to our appeal and sow seeds of wellbeing within our community.

  • Every £10
Buys seeds and compost for one client gardener, enabling them to plant their first seeds, a small but powerful step that builds confidence and self-belief.
  • Every £20
Equips one client gardener with the practical tools needed to maintain their seedlings, helping early efforts grow into lasting achievement.
  • Every £50
Funds a full growing season for a client gardener, providing ongoing support to help them grow their plants, skills and sense of pride.
  • Every £100
Allows us to facilitate a session with a group of client gardeners, creating a space for community, shared learning, and collective achievement.
