Job Title: Specialist STH Practitioner

Location: London (Battersea Park)

Salary: £28,000

Hours: Full-time (35 hours)

Contract: Permanent

Could you help people improve their health and well-being through gardening? Do you have experience of working in a community gardening or health and social care setting? At Thrive, our Practitioners work with plants and people to improve an individual’s physical and psychological health, social interaction. skills and confidence.

We’re looking for a Specialist STH Practitioner to provide high quality and effective Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) programmes for adults in our gardens in Battersea Park and outreach settings.

Working alongside volunteers this role will support people with learning disabilities, autism, long term health conditions or disabilities. Delivering horticulture qualifications for client
gardeners, as an assessor or IQA for the City & Guild Level 1 Practical Horticulture Skills.

Based at Thrive’s London Centre in Battersea Park. The role will involve some work undertaken off-site in London and occasional travel to the Thrive Centres in Reading and Birmingham. Appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check. Thrive complies fully with the DBS Code of Practice. Having a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an individual from working for Thrive.

Job Title: Content Creator (Officer Role)

Location: Reading (Hybrid)
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 (£20,800 to £22,400 for 28hrs)
Hours: 28 - 35 per week
Contract: 1-year fixed term contract (with possibility of extension depending on the needs of the organisation)

We’re looking for a creative and skilled Content Creator to join our Communications and Marketing Team and help bring Thrive’s mission to life. This role is all about producing engaging, high-quality content that inspires, informs, and connects with our audiences. From crafting compelling stories and designing eye-catching visuals to creating videos and managing social media, you’ll play a key part in boosting awareness and engagement across all our channels.

Job Title: Minibus Driver

Location: Beech Hill, Reading

Pay: £12.21 per hour, 4 hrs per week

Thrive is a national charity that uses gardening to change lives. We are looking for a minibus driver to drive Thrive’s client gardeners within Berkshire & Hampshire. The usual route is to and from Thrive’s gardens in Beech Hill, near Reading to Basingstoke rail station.

We’re looking for pleasant and approachable drivers who are sensitive to our users’ needs.

You must hold a clean Category D1 driving licence and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of driving. The ability to maintain accurate vehicle and user records is essential as is the ability to undertake daily and weekly vehicle checks and carry out simple maintenance tasks. Desirable skills and experience include: MiDAS (Minibus Driving Awareness Scheme) training, working with people with disabilities, and a current First Aid qualification but full training can be given. A knowledge of the Reading and Basingstoke area would also be beneficial.

Hours of work:

Mornings: Tuesday (8.15am -10.15am)

Afternoons: Tuesday (2.45pm – 4.45pm)

(Plus opportunity to cover additional shifts: Wednesday - Friday 8.15am-10.15am and 2.45pm-4.45pm).

Shifts are typically for both the morning and afternoon, but we are open to candidates who are only able to work in the morning or afternoon. We are also looking for drivers to join our bank of casual drivers.
