Enjoying the gardens
The team at Thrive Reading have been bowled over by the interest and support for our client gardeners’ work that’s been shown during open days this year.

More than 640 people visited our Beech Hill gardens over the spring and summer, 200 more than last year, and sales of plants, books, produce and cakes went up 35 per cent as a result.

Paul Scott, Thrive Reading’s Regional Centre Manager, said: `It’s been really heartening to see the level of support for our work and people’s interest in what our client gardeners do.

`We’ve had lovely comments from people saying how much they’ve enjoyed looking around our gardens. Visitors have appreciated the horticultural skills of our clients and have gone away with better insight into how therapeutic gardening can improve lives.’

Dates for Thrive Reading’s open gardens in 2020 will be released in the new year.
