We had a stall at the popular Kings Heath Street Festival. Staff and volunteers were asking local people about what kinds of activities and events they would like to see in the garden. It was a great opportunity to gather different ideas and to raise our profile in the local community.
We are continuing our garden tours this month with people joining us from near and far, including members of the Stourbridge Trefoil Guild. After the heavy rain we’ve been having, we paused in the Bonita Bolaitis garden where we have some beautiful silver birches and the group took turns in pressing their ears to the trunks to see if they could hear any water rising up the trees!
Our Saturday Community gardening volunteers have been busy working in the Rose garden this month, including two new starters. Rosie, our group leader has guided the group through the summer season and as we enter into the cooler and wetter months, we were very grateful for the sunshine!
