We hosted a pop-up film at the Thrive Birmingham office, created by Rajab Mahmood and his film production company Local Arts Blueprint CIC.
The documentary, which celebrates neighbours sharing their different cultural experiences was commissioned by Our Scene CIC in partnership with volunteer-led group Kings Heath United Against Racism. It was a great way to connect with our local community and introduce more people to Thrive and our beautiful garden.
After the film, we had a garden tour and some nature connection activities where people could continue to get to know one another.
We had over 85 people attend our free pond dipping session! Families got a chance to meet some of our resident smooth newts, investigate pond life and embark on a colour hunt in the garden.
We were joined by over 270 local people at our community open day which was packed with hands-on activities. It was a chance for people to explore our beautiful gardens, meet new people, and enjoy some insect-themed stone painting, pond dipping and making bug hotels and natural bird feeders.
