Members of the Birmingham Chinese Community Centre visited the garden this month. We took some time to sketch and paint the spring flowers and then we propagated some rosemary. There was lots of enthusiasm for the different culinary herbs we have in the garden and it was fantastic to see people's creativity in the garden pictures!
Whilst it was a chilly spring day, we had lots of families join us for a garden trail, where they got to connect to nature in different ways including painting spring flowers, meeting the newts, recording and identifying birds, bugs and butterflies and going on a wildlife habitat hunt!
We had a great day with a youth group from The Feast- an organisation which brings together teenagers from across Birmingham from different faiths and cultures to build friendships, explore faith and change lives.
The group helped launch our hoverfly citizen science project by making hoverfly lagoons! We also enjoyed pond dipping and planting herbs. We look forward to welcoming the group back again in May and July.
