On Friday 2nd October, we're inviting referrers and social prescribers to visit and find out more about what we do at Thrive. This will include information about the different programmes we run and the types of referrals we're looking for.
Thrive has been using social and therapeutic horticulture and gardening to change people's lives since 1979 we know that our programmes have a positive impact on people's lives. In our last survey:
We have various programmes running across the year:
General Sessions - weekly sessions for those with a learning disability, autism, ADHD or physical health conditions, with a chance to get active, learn new skills and have fun.
Life Changers - a slower paced programme with a recovery focus, for those who have had a life changing diagnosis or event, such as stroke, heart attack, Parkinson's, cancer, significant bereavement.
Growing Out - a 6-month programme to improve mental health and wellbeing, this is currently a women's only group, but there will be a move to a fully inclusive mixed group in the future. This can lead to a City & Guilds Qualification depending on attendance.
Grow & Learn - working with school groups we deliver qualifications or curriculum focused sessions to SEN pupils.
We also deliver outreach programmes across the city, holiday activities for SEN young people and more.
