This two-day course provides information, skills and practical techniques that enable you to match horticultural activities to the national curriculum and develop an extracurricular therapeutic programme to meet the support needs of groups of children and young people.

The course will enable you to create and develop school horticulture activities and create year-round programmes that meet individual and collective pupils’ needs. You will gain an understanding of the theory of using social and therapeutic horticulture (STH) with special education needs and different themes of practice as well as exploring the use of assessment models for STH in a school setting.

Teachers, teaching assistants and other school staff with an interest in using horticulture as a therapeutic intervention
