Huge congratulations to Michaela Tremlett who ran the Virgin London Marathon in aid of Thrive in April - what a fantastic achievement!!
And this marathon was in fact Michaela's second of the year as she ran the Brighton Marathon for Thrive and Reading Half Marathon - all part of training for the big one! It was the first time she had run the London Marathon and completed it in 7hrs 6 mins.
Michaela, who lives in Bracknell, said: "At various points in my life I would have benefited from the work Thrive does. I have suffered from depression on and off since my early teens, and it was only two years ago that I discovered the benefits of outdoor exercise.
"However, instead of gardening, I found running. Within six months of my very first run, I ran the Reading Half Marathon and running has been a huge part of my life ever since."
Michaela, who works for Veritas, was introduced to Thrive after she came on a corporate volunteering day at our gardens in Beech Hill, Berkshire.

In her feedback form after the day she offered to help at any fundraising events, and it was at our recent music night that she indicated it would be her dream to run in the Virgin London Marathon.
She said: "Adding the Virgin London Marathon to my running list made it a hat trick in 2017, so I hope people will support me in my running endeavours!
"It was a truly amazing experience as as I was never going to come first I relaxed and enjoyed myself."
Michaela works for a company that already supports Thrive - Veritas -which has a policy of matching employee charity donations, so anything she raises will be doubled.
There is still time to support Michaela here, or for text donations text THRIV65 £5 to 70070. Michaela is continuing to raise funds to reach her target and is holding a curry night soon.
If you've been inspired by Michaela's efforts why not take up a charity challenge in aid of Thrive or there is still time to register and take part in the 100-mile PruRide London-Surrey cycle event in July. Details here.
