The sun shone down on Thrive’s annual flower show which was once again a wonderful display featuring the best flowers, vegetables and compost.
Judges had a tough time picking the winners from 12 classes, which included a mixed foliage bouquet, five spring onions on a plate, nature collage, vegetable animals (very popular!) and decorated cupcakes.
Entries came from the client gardeners at Thrive in Beech Hill and from out centre in Battersea Park, who all came down for the day.
People attending other local care homes and special schools in the area also entered the show and enjoyed visiting the Thrive gardens where there were stalls and a tombola, along with tea and cakes.
Medals were given out to the winners by our trustee Faith Ramsay, although everyone who entered received a certificate of commendation.
Thrive’s gardens will open over the coming months for visitors to enjoy.
Come and visit us between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday August 18 and Friday September 16th.
Entrance is free but donations are welcome. There will be refreshments on offer, tea and cakes and plant sales. Gardeners and therapists will be giving guided tours of the gardens.
