New year is a time when people often decide to change their lives and become healthier, fitter and feel better about themselves.

We strive at Thrive to spread the word that gardening is good for health.

We believe being in nature has so many positives and that more people could benefit if they knew how.

So, we developed a tool to help achieve that called Cultivating Wellbeing in Gardens and Nature.

It aims to help people find the best way to connect with nature that will suit them and deliver improvements to physical and mental health.

I have recognised the value for me, and in fact for everyone, of taking time in the outdoors to re-charge and re-frame.

Ex-teacher Ann

It’s available online and has short three parts, including explanations of why gardens and nature are beneficial. It will then guide you to develop your own personal gardens and nature wellbeing plan to help make the changes you want.

Among those who have used Cultivating Wellbeing in Gardens and Nature is former teacher Ann, who enjoyed the opportunity to shut off the busy world around her and reflect on her needs.

Ann said: ‘In these challenging times we have all faced over the last year or more, I have recognised the value for me, and in fact for everyone, of taking time in the outdoors to re-charge and re-frame.’

Cultivating Wellbeing in Gardens and Nature is free to access and could be the ideal first step towards a healthier you in 2022.
