In April 2024, Ben Thomas took on the position of Chief Executive Officer at Thrive, succeeding Kathryn Rossiter.
In his new role, Ben is eager to contribute to Thrive's development and further its impact. Together he believes that we can support even more people, helping them to improve their health and wellbeing through gardening.
Over the last three years, Ben has been overseeing our Charitable Services, which includes our Training, Information, and Client Services. Ben has 9 years of senior management experience within the charitable sector, having spent his early career in retail management. He is passionate about the role Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) can play in our Society and is keen to ensure Thrive delivers an excellent service for all our client gardeners and students. Alongside our amazing staff and volunteers, Ben is working to grow the impact of our services, build on our relationships with our many amazing partners, and ensure that Social and Therapeutic Horticulture practitioners and programmes across the UK are recognised for the amazing benefits they provide. Supported by our Trustees, Ben is responsible for ensuring that the Charity complies with its statutory and legal obligations and develops a sustainable operating model that enables Thrive to continue to provide its valued services.
