Garden Thyme is a new programme for people living with dementia or memory loss. Participants can engage in gentle gardening, nature-based activities, and crafts to enhance wellbeing and quality of life.

Benefits of the programme:

  • Stimulating memory and improving cognitive skills
  • Socialising in a relaxed, friendly group environment
  • Increased physical activity
  • Enhanced confidence and independence
  • Enjoying more time spent in nature
  • A sense of achievement

The program runs weekly every Wednesday from 10 am. Participants can join a half-day session in the morning or afternoon or attend for the entire day. The sessions are suitable for a range of needs and abilities, including individuals in the earlier stages or with early onset of dementia, memory loss, or cognitive impairment.

Our trained practitioners will assist attendees in taking part in activities designed to stimulate the senses, evoke memories, maintain or improve physical abilities, interact with others, and connect with nature and plants.

This programme is free to attend. Recruitment is on a rolling basis and people can attend for up to one year. Sessions run from the Thrive Main Garden in Battersea Park.
