Prior to joining Thrive in 2009, Neil ran his own gardening business. He joined Thrive initially as a Horticultural Therapist and then moved to his current role as a Training Officer in 2018.
Key responsibilities of his role are to deliver training on our courses and to support students through their learning journeys. Much of his time is devoted to Thrive’s Diploma and Award course students. He also delivers the ‘Using social and therapeutic horticulture to benefit people with learning disabilities’ course and the ‘Step into STH’ course when it runs in Birmingham. He is also responsible for the delivery of some of our bespoke and consultancy projects.
Neil has a HND in Horticulture and Level 5 Award in STH. He also has a Level 3 Award in Education & Training and Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies.
In his role at Thrive, Neil particularly enjoys engaging with students and helping to guide their passion and enthusiasm, knowing that they will go on to use their skills to improve the lives of many others.
