Using nature as therapy is usually a holistic approach, however the flexibility of nature, plants and gardens enables skilled practitioners the chance to use these mediums for therapy to work towards clinicially defined goals as well.
This course will explore how understanding of garden design, seasonality, grading and adaptation can be used to support rehabilitation from a range of accidents and illnesses where physical, sensorial and cognitive abilities need to be redeveloped in order to support an individual back to independence and health. Green care could be very effective as an adjunct to existing approaches to rehabilitation and does so with holistic value maintained.
