As part of Thrive's new blended learning approach to delivering training we are now offering our Demonstrate your Impact - Outcome Measurement course.

This blended course explores the different ways of using outcomes and standards to demonstrate the impact of what you do and maximising the outcomes for the individuals, and the wider social impact. From understanding the importance of setting clear aims, identifying your stakeholders and the importance of quality standards.

To demonstrate the impact of their Social and Therapeutic Horticulture projects, and to evaluate their success, practitioners need to be able to collect and analyse information effectively in a way that has a positive impact on their relationships with their clients and funders. You also need to understand the quality of that information that you are collecting (what does it actually tell you?), how to collect it in a timely and effective manner and how to share your findings in a way that is accessing and understandable to others. Understanding the purpose and use of outcome measures will allow you to do just that.

This course is suitable for:

Practitioners - including volunteers and alied professionals

What you will learn:

  • Define the aims and outcomes of your projects with assessment in mind
  • Capture the information that enables you to improve the way you work and demonstrate you are meeting your aims and outcomes
  • Understand the different kinds of assessment methods, tools, and evaluate what is appropriate for your project
  • Share these results in a way that is meaningful to the various stakeholders in your project; participants and supports, other professionals, funders and commissioners, potential future attendees and the wider community
