Thrive is a national charity whose mission is to research, educate and promote the use and advantages of gardening for people with a disability.

Workshops and roadshows

  • Did you once enjoy gardening but have lost your sight and your confidence?
  • Do you have sight problems and are interested in learning some new gardening techniques?

Then you might like to come to one of Thrive’s practical workshops or gardening weekends.

We often run one day workshops around the country and can arrange workshops for gardening groups or clubs. The only costs to participants is a nominal fee of £5 to cover materials.  You'll also receive a complimentary copy of Thrive’s quarterly Come Gardening magazine, which is available in large print, audio cassette and CD, in Braille, and by email.

We are running a gardening workshop in Birmingham on 15 September 2010.

To find out if there is a workshop or gardening weekend planned near you, or to arrange a workshop for your gardening group or club, send us an email or call Susan Twigg on 0118 988 5688. Alternatively you can write to us: Thrive, The Geoffrey Udall Centre, Beech Hill, Reading RG7 2AT

Thrive’s roadshows and workshops are made possible with funding from the Big Lottery Fund.
