Volunteering at Thrive

Volunteers come to Thrive for many reasons, including a desire to gain further experience or skills, to 'give something back' to the community or to take an interim step towards employment. Volunteers gave over 6,500 hours in 2005 across the organisation and we are always keen to recruit more help.
Examples of volunteering opportunities at Thrive:
Working at one of Thrive’s Garden Projects – alongside a therapist, working directly with our clients or simply coming along to garden.
Regular support – At the Thrive Garden Projects, volunteers look after visitors during the weekend and sell plants, help with open days.
Fundraising – over the years volunteers have made a significant contribution to raising funds by organising events.
Administrative support – helping at open days or working in one of our offices.
In Battersea we are running a supported volunteering project. This is aimed at people who would like to volunteer but need extra assistance to be able to contribute. Volunteers, who may have mental health needs, learning difficulties, physical disability health issues or problems integrating with society, visit and work in gardens in London such as the Chelsea Physic.
