A £60,000 fundraising campaign is underway to enhance Trunkwell’s Victorian walled garden with five new gardens which will show people with certain disabilities how they can make a garden work for them.
• Stroke survivors and those living with heart disease will find an inspiring garden with ideas to help their recovery.
• Young people who have special educational needs such as ADHD or autism will love exploring and learning in their dedicated garden.
• Blind and partially sighted gardeners will be able to pick-up ideas and tips to help them carry on gardening.
• People who have mental health issues will see how gardening can help them connect with nature and use gardening to boost their mood.
• Older people who have age related physical challenges and those coping with early stage dementia will benefit from the fifth garden.
Locally based global agri-business Syngenta is sponsoring the garden for stroke survivors and a generous Thrive supporter is funding the garden focusing on mental health.
Could you or someone you know sponsor a garden or help us raise the remaining funds – perhaps you could sponsor a garden or make a contribution?
All donations will be gratefully received, so please call the fundraising team on 0118 988 5688 or email
