Thrive is a national charity whose mission is to research, educate and promote the use and advantages of gardening for people with a disability.

Thrive's Patrons

Thrive's Royal Patron

Thrive is grateful for the support of HRH Princess Alexandra as Patron of the charity.

The Princess first visited Thrive’s National Office and Trunkwell Garden Project in 2004. She met Thrive gardeners, our volunteers and staff, and planted a cherry tree to commemorate the occasion. It was after this visit that Princess Alexandra was invited to become Patron of Thrive.

In July 2007, we were delighted to welcome Princess Alexandra to the annual Thrive Trunkwell Flower Show. The Princess met the prize winners, presented the Inspire: the HRH Princess Alexandra Award for Outstanding Achievement and opened the Thrive Secret Garden.

In 2010 Princess Alexandra visited The Herb Garden in Battersea where she met many of Thrive's London gardeners and enjoyed a tour of the garden.
