In October 2015 The Garden of Reflection was officially opened. Read about the ceremony here.
Twice a week Thrive Gateshead hosts two local schools for young people with educational needs who are studying Level One Practical Horticulture. More here.
In 2016 Thrive Gateshead ran a Gardening for Good Health
scheme in the park, which has been funded by Gateshead Council where we combined gardening skills with healthy eating and exercise.
We have also taken our gardening knowledge into care homes in Gateshead to encourage and enable good mental and physical health amongst residents. More here.
And one of our programmes to help young people with special educational needs(SEN) was given a grant of £5,000 from global company Sage. More here.
It is with great sadness that we have taken the difficult decision to close our Gateshead office at the end of July 2017 when the current Grow and Learn project comes to an end.
Gardening for stroke survivors will continue, facilitated by staff and volunteers from the Stroke Association.
