The talented designers accepted their prizes on Thursday 30 October 2008 at a ceremony in the nearby headquarters of the competition sponsors, shopping channel QVC.  Sarah’s first prize was £3,500. The second prize was £1,000 and the third prize, £500.

Sarah will now work with Thrive to develop her design for the Battersea Park site. The redevelopment will create a flagship for therapeutic horticulture in the capital and work is due to start in 2009/10.

Nicola Carruthers, Chief Executive of Thrive commented:

“Sarah produced a truly imaginative design. All the judges felt that it showed a real understanding and acknowledgement of how disabled gardeners will work in the garden. Sarah also incorporated some very thoughtful use of natural materials and we felt that it related exceptionally well to the proposed new building, bringing the gardens and building together.”
