Workshops and Roadshows
- Did you once enjoy gardening but have lost your sight and your confidence?
- Do you have sight problems and are interested in learning some new gardening techniques?
Then you might like to come to one of Thrive’s practical workshops. The gardening activities usually include: seed-sowing, potting on, planting up a container and a chance to try tools that other blind and partially sighted gardeners find useful. The final programme depends on people’s interests, and we often end the session with a ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’.
The only costs to participants is a nominal fee of £5 to cover materials and includes trial membership of the National Blind Gardeners’ Club and a copy of Thrive’s quarterly Come Gardening magazine, which is available in large print, audio cassette and CD, on disc, Braille, and by email.
