Using Horticulture to benefit people with mental health support needs

04/04/2006

Earlier in March Thrive ran one of its most successful courses examining the relationship between social and therapeutic horticulture and mental health issues.

The course examined ways in which horticulture can support opportunities for rehabilitation, social inclusion, training and employment.

Course attendees gained greater knowledge of mental health issues tasks and delivery methods.

One participant commented 'It will enable me to find much better and more interesting activities for our clients.' Another said ' It was great to really understand different techniques and practical solutions.'
