Trunkwell Flower Show has highest number of entries ever

22/07/2005

Every year, Thrive’s Trunkwell Garden Project holds a Flower Show to celebrate the work of disabled and disadvantaged people who attend the Project and local projects across the South East. This year’s flower show, on 24 June, received a total of 310 entries – the highest number of entries ever. We also received the highest number of entries for a new class in 2005: 42 entries were received for the class of ‘Miniature Garden in a Seed Tray'.

Over 12 projects from across the South East submitted entries and many were able to attend what was a really fun day for clients and carers. Stalls included a ‘Human Fruit Machine’, ‘Buried Treasure’, and ‘Whack-a-Spud’ as well as the ever-popular tombola, raffle and steel band music.
Judges were impressed with the quality of entries and a number of medals were gained by people from projects who had not previously entered.
