Thrive Battersea Garden Project Flower Show

17/10/2007

Over 200 people attended the Thrive Battersea Garden Project’s annual Flower Show in London’s Battersea Park on Wednesday 10 October. The photograph shows Thrive gardener Jason with the Mayor of Wandsworth. Jason won prizes for his sweet apple chutney and his sculpture of a pig constructed from materials found in the garden.

Visitors enjoyed massages courtesy of the Healing Tent, could try their hand at the Japanese art of paper-folding or take their chances at apple-bobbing. There were a range of plants and other goods for sale as well as the chance to win gardening goodies in a raffle of donated prizes.

Entries were submitted by twelve garden projects from across London, as well as Thirve’s own garden projects. These included Deen City Farm, the Green Fingers Group, the Growing People Project, the Oldstead Road Community Allotment Project, Sydenham Garden and the Woodbine Clubhouse.

Thrive would like to thank the following companies for their donations to the Flower Show raffle:
BBC Magazines, Caravaggio, Centre Sales, Complete Media Group, Conran Octopus, Expert Books, Labels ‘N’ Things, Mufti Ltd, Quadrille Publishing Ltd, Whichford Pottery, Wyevale.
