Staff at Foster Wheeler, the Reading-based international engineering, procurement and construction contractor, have raised £5,800 for Thrive.
The Foster Wheeler Social Club chose Thrive as their Charity of the Year 2010 and raised money by organising lunchtime sales, raffles and 'loose change’ days.
Chris Miles, Chairman of the Foster Wheeler Social Club, commented: "We are delighted that members of our staff have engaged with our fund-raising activities during the year to enable us to make this donation to Thrive.
"It was a pleasure to visit Thrive’s stunning gardens at Beech Hill to present our cheque and particularly to meet some of the people who are receiving help and support from Thrive."
Thrive is the only charity in the UK which enables those touched by disability to transform their lives through gardening.
Gardening can improve our health especially after a stroke or heart attack, a serious illness or road accident, when time spent in the garden can be really therapeutic. People suffering from depression or a mental illness can benefit from time in the garden and Thrive wants to help even more people who have a disability to garden.
Nicci Carruthers, Chief Executive of Thrive, said: "This money from a large, locally-based organisation, is extremely welcome and we are always humbled that people have voted for us to be their Charity of the Year.
"This very generous donation will be used to equip the teaching gardens that form part of our new Garden Gallery due to be built this year."
