First roadshows in London for blind and partially sighted gardeners

18/08/2005

Thrive and RNIB's Getting on with Gardening Project is holding two roadshows for the first time in London for people who are blind and partially sighted and are interested in learning new gardening techniques. The first will be held on Monday 3 April 2006 in Battersea Park, and the second on Monday 25 September 2006 at Thrive's Hackney Garden Project. Sessions will run from 10am-3.30pm, tea and coffee are provided. Activities at the roadshows could include: seed-sowing, taking cuttings, potting on, planting up a container and outdoor planting ideas. The final programme will depend on people's interests.
There is a nominal fee of £5 to cover materials and a year's trial subscription to Thrive's unique quarterly 'Come Gardening' magazine. The Getting on with Gardening Project is supported by the Big Lottery Fund.
