Thrive is a national charity whose mission is to research, educate and promote the use and advantages of gardening for people with a disability.

Horticulture in Secure Settings

Thrive commissioned The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies at King’s College London to conduct research exploring horticultural activities within prisons and secure psychiatric units. Thrive has published a book containing the findings, and copies are available from Thrive Publications.

More recently, Thrive has begun to collaborate with Bethlem Hospital in SE London to develop a programme for long-stay patients working towards their release.
