Thrive is a national charity whose mission is to research, educate and promote the use and advantages of gardening for people with a disability.

Friends and Members of Thrive

Friends and Members of Thrive 
are not only those who have a professional interest in using gardening and horticulture to benefit people with disabilities, but are also those who wish to support Thrive and enable more people who have a disability to use gardening to improve their quality of life.

All new Friends and Members will receive a welcome pack which includes:

  • a 32 page full-colour Guide to Thrive booklet
  • an inspirational CD of stories and experiences of disabled people who have benefited from gardening
  • an information sheet on the subject of sensory gardens
  • summary details and information on garden tools suitable for disabled people
  • a full-colour information sheet on how to build raised beds
  • a Thrive car sticker, and a handy wallet calendar.

Every member will benefit from:

  • GrowthPoint magazinePublished four times a year, GrowthPoint is packed full of news and opinion about how gardening can improve health andwellbeing
  • regular editions of Thrive News with updates on our work with disabled people and top tips
  • regular e-newsletter with interesting topics, advice and information
  • privileged access to the Friends and Members area of the Thrive website, where you can access useful information to support running a garden project
  • a concessionary rate when hiring Thrive's training and meeting rooms and our unique Secret Garden at the Thrive National Office near Reading, Berkshire
  • a discount on the courses available on Thrive's National Short Course Programme
