Thrive is a national charity whose mission is to research, educate and promote the use and advantages of gardening for people with a disability.

Do you find gardening difficult?

Thrive has been enabling older and disabled people to continue enjoying their gardens. We offer help and advice through our information service, and our website www.carryongardening.org.uk

We have produced an easy to use manual called Creating Gardening Independence which sets out how to run a scheme using volunteers to give gardening advice, information and support to older and disabled people.

It gives practical instructions, hints and tips and much more as to how they can make small adjustments in their gardens to make them more manageable. This will enable even more older and disabled people to continue to enjoy their gardens and stay in their homes.

Creating Gardening Independence is available from our online publications catalogue or by calling 0118 988 5688.

We have also designed training days providing further information on using the manual and on making gardening easier for older and disabled people.
