Award in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture

The Award in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) forms a key component of the educational qualification framework that exists within the UK for STH. The aim of the Award is for learners to consider, discuss and reflect how the use of STH can benefit people with specific support needs and how this can be implemented as a therapy programme.

Possible routes to the Award are:

2 DAYS ATTENDANCE ON THRIVE’S NATIONAL SHORT COURSE PROGRAMME (NSCP)
+ ASSIGNMENT

  1. Award application
  2. Acceptance
  3. Receipt of payment
  4. 2 weeks prior to attendance on NSCP receive pre course and post course handbooks
  5. Attend 2 days on NSCP
  6. 6 weeks post course study time
  7. Assignment hand in for marking and external ratification
  8. Certification

ASSIGNMENT ONLY
(FOR THOSE ALREADY COMPLETED 2 DAYS OF TRAINING ON NSCP)

Assignment

To produce a 1250 word report on how the use of STH can benefit people with specific support needs and how this can be implemented as a therapy programme.

Certification

Following external collaboration between the Award Team and Coventry University you will be provided with a certificate of recognition as equivalent to a 10 credit module of study at undergraduate level.
