Training and Research
Training and Education
Our team organise a range of courses, bespoke training and consultancy for professionals who want to use gardening to benefit disabled or disadvantage people. We also offer a unique quality assurance system, Cultivating Quality, which helps projects run their social and therapeutic horticulture activities effectively and efficiently.
Thrive’s one and two day courses are particularly suitable for people working in health, care, environment and education. We can also help with higher education opportunities in partnership with institutions such as Coventry University.
The benefits of coming on one of Thrive’s courses include:
- improved knowledge and understanding of social and therapeutic horticulture
- hands-on experience of practical applications and techniques
- improved understanding of how social and therapeutic horticulture can be used to best effect with a range of client groups

Research
Thrive is very active in researching and promoting the benefits of gardening and horticultural activity. We believe it is very important to increase people’s understanding of the power that gardening has to change lives. We also strive to increase awareness of the enormous benefits that gardening activity can bring.
