Thrive is a national charity whose mission is to research, educate and promote the use and advantages of gardening for people with a disability.

Events

Trunkwell Gardens at Beech Hill, Reading, RG7 2AT

Come and visit Berkshire’s hidden gem of a garden at one of our open days in 2012, run as part of the NGS events.

Thrive’s gardens are not usually open to the public, so these days offer the chance for people to visit some fantastic gardens (including our Gold Medal winning Chelsea garden and our new Hearts and Minds Garden) and find out more about how we use gardening to help people with disabilities.

There is a beautiful and interesting three-acre Victorian walled garden to stroll around which includes a conservation area, Potager, Japanese garden, Secret Garden, bee and butterfly area and allotments at the rear of the garden.

Thank you to everyone who supported us at our events in 2011, your visits really make a difference. Please come and see us again, or if you are new to Thrive please come and say hello!

Plant a Difference

Our successful campaign was repeated at our events in 2011. People are asked to bring us a plant or something to swap (jam, books etc) swap it with another, and make a donation to Thrive. All profits go towards sending boxes brimming full of ready-to-plant herbs and perennials straight to the door of disabled gardeners across the UK.

Or a £35 donation would pay for a box.  Watch this space for our 2012 plans.

If you would like to hold an event to support Thrive, please contact Individual Giving Manager Sue Tiplady on 0118 988 5688 for any advice or find out more here.
